Finding a Lens Definition in the Lens Library

A Lens definition is a collection of information about a lens that was (or will be) used in the viewing and capturing of images. These instructions explain how to find a lens in the Lens Library and mark it as a "Favorite" so that it is available for applying to images.

Note: These instructions assume the lens definition is already created. For instructions on creating a lens definition, click here.

Lens definitions are generally applied to images from the Optical Characteristics group on the Capture tab.
The Lens list box lists all lenses from the Lens Library that have been marked as "Favorites."

The following steps explain how to find predefined lens definitions in the Lens Library and add them to the Lens list box.

Click on the Lens Options tool to the right of the Lens list box.

The Lenses dialog box is displayed.

In the "Lens Library" panel at the bottom of the Lenses dialog box, click on the Manufacturer list box and select the manufacturer of the lens you are looking for.

The lens list is limited to showing only lens definitions for the specified manufacturer in the Manufacturer. For example, select "Carl Zeiss" to list all of the Carl Zeiss lens definitions.

From the Magnification list box, select the magnification of the lens you are looking for.

The lens list will show only lens definitions of the specified manufacturer with the specified magnification.

If you see the lens you are looking for, to mark it as a "Favorite": Click on it, and then click the Favorites tool (a yellow star) in the Lens Library tool bar. Optionally, you can simply check the checkbox to the left of the lens definition to mark it as a "Favorite".

The tagged lens definition will now appear in the Lens list box in the Optical Characteristics group, and it is available to be applied to images.
